Paying with Giropay in Germany
There are always the normal ways of taking care of online transactions: companies such as PayPal, UseMyBank, Neteller, and others. For the customer looking for a taste that is a little more European, the options are perhaps less known; less known, though certainly not less good. That's where Giropay comes in. Giropay, a German online transaction service, compares to those mentioned above in methods and in security. Giropay is among the most popular methods of online payment in Germany and is accepted in nearly every major German financial institution. PayPal, for example, recently announced that it was going to integrate with Giropay, allowing Giropay to reach far more customers and provide even better service.
Using Giropay
Giropay works in ways very similar to those of other online services such as those mentioned in the previous paragraph. Here's how it works. The customer must first choose the Giropay option at whichever online vendor's webpage he or she happens to be using. The customer then enters his or her credit provider's bank routing number, which transfers the transaction to that institution's webpage. The customer's information appears on the screen, already filled out, and all that the customer must do is confirm that it is correct and enter a personal security number. This confirms and completes the transaction. The vendor then receives this transaction nearly immediately, and can begin to process it. This is the case both for German companies and for companies from other countries; at the same time, Giropay also helps companies outside of Germany integrate well into the German online market. So the next time that you feel that you want to try out a European online financial service, why not try Giropay? If it's good enough for the Germans, it's certainly good enough for the rest of the world.
